The twin plug conversion requires the use of a breakerless ignition distributor. As shown below for 911 SC and Turbo applications, through 1989, the existing distributor is converted to use a Bosch 12 plug distributor cap and rotor. For 911 Carrera's from 1984 to 1989 a signal splitter is used with the C2 tandem distributor.

For carburetor, mechanical or CIS injection engines, this conversion retains
the correct advance curve and vacuum retard for proper and legal engine functions. Uses a
Bosch distributor cap and rotor. Components necessary:
